Why your gift matters

A Bishop Carroll education prepares students for more than college and career, it prepares them for life. In addition to academic and professional success, a faith-filled high school experience helps to build strong relationships and families.

When you give to Bishop Carroll you make a lifelong impact on students. They grow in faith, and learn qualities you can’t measure in test scores alone, like self-reliance, personal responsibility, morals, decision-making, work ethic, discipline, fellowship and respect.
As an independent, private non-profit organization, Bishop Carroll relies almost exclusively on support from alumni, friends, businesses and our community to keep our school going strong.

Your gift shows you believe in the mission and impact of educating students in spirit, heart, mind and body. Donors to Bishop Carroll are passionate about their ability to make a difference, and we are grateful for the blessing of their support.

Annual Fund

When you give to Bishop Carroll’s annual fund, you provide unrestricted financial support and direct resources where they are needed most, helping to advance our mission as a Catholic school.

  • High-quality faculty members who are role models of faith and service
  • Technology upgrades and new materials and learning tools, such as science lab equipment and classroom supplies
  • Curriculum enhancements such as dual enrollment programs with colleges and universities, advanced placement and honors courses, world languages and technology courses
  • More faith and service opportunities to give our students a well-rounded foundation for the future

Gifts to the annual fund are recognized in the following categories:

Named Scholarships and Guardian Angel Fund

Dedicated exclusively to tuition assistance, Named Scholarships can be created in the name of a donor(s) or in honor or memory of an individual or family named by the donor. Named Scholarships provide need-based financial aid to students who are currently enrolled.

  • A Named Scholarship requires a minimum gift of $500 per year for a three-year period.
  • Scholarships are awarded on a non-discriminatory basis at a minimum of $500 per student.

Donors may request that recipient students meet specific qualifications, such as parish affiliation or performance in an academic subject. Scholarships are not awarded for athletics. Gifts below $500 intended exclusively for tuition assistance scholarships can be designated as Guardian Angel gifts.

Named Scholarships are recognized annually on the Honor Roll of Donors and with a student acknowledgement.

The Carroll Society

The Carroll Society provides an opportunity for alumni and friends to support the school’s vision for sustainability as more families seek the benefits of a Catholic education.

  • Carroll Society donors commit $1,000 per year for a minimum of 3 years
  • A one-time gift of $3,000 or more also earns a donor membership into the Carroll Society
  • A gift of $10,000 or more earns a donor a life membership into the Carroll Society

All Carroll Society donors are recognized annually on the Honor Roll of Donors and at special events as appropriate.

EITC for businesses and individuals

Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit program allows qualifying individuals and businesses to donate their state tax liability to an approved scholarship organization, including Bishop Carroll.

Participating in EITC is possible at little to no cost to the donor and makes a major impact on Bishop Carroll’s ability to provide need-based financial aid to families.

Community Support

Bishop Carroll is blessed to be part of a community that cares deeply about the success of its young people. Ebensburg as well as the surrounding communities are part of the fabric of our school community, since students come from all over the northern area of Cambria County to attend BC.

Parishes, businesses and friends of BC provide support by attending school activities, events and athletics; making significant financial contributions; sponsoring athletic teams and student activities; recommending Bishop Carroll to families seeking a high-quality Catholic high school education.

Thank you to the many individuals, families, parishes, businesses and community organizations who bless Bishop Carroll with their generosity.
